Violet can't believe it's NATIONAL CRAB STUFFED FLOUNDER DAY and no one has brought her any crab stuffed flounder. You know what would make her feel better? A wonderful family adopting her.Violet is in one of our community rooms with other cats and enjoys it very much. She has overcome her shyness and will now follow you around, waiting for you to pet her. She enjoys playing with wand toys, hanging out with the other cats, and eating crab stuffed flounder.
The next few days are going to be extremely cold here in North Iowa, we're talkin -30 degree wind chill people!! 😨😨😨Temperatures this low can be deadly to pets that are left outside.
We implore you to keep your pets inside during this arctic blast and make potty breaks brief. Yes, there are some northern breed dogs that can endure the colder temps better than others, so please use good judgment to make sure your pets are safe.
During this type of weather, we receive many phone calls from people concerned about dogs they see in their neighborhood outside for prolonged periods. If you see this kind of situation, we encourage you to call your local law enforcement and ask them to do a welfare check on the animal to make sure it is ok. Better safe than sorry!!!!
Lastly, I'd like to give a big shout out in advance to all those who work in animal care (our own shelter staff included!) who are going to be working extra hard the next few days making sure shelter dogs are kept safe and warm during this extreme cold.
Our advice for the few days is to cuddle up with a furry friend and stay warm!! 😊😊

It's National Gumdrop Day! I know you'll be excited to meet our Gumdrop.Hi I'm Gumdrop. I will happily run over and climb in your lap if you sit down, but I am not a fan of being picked up. I am super sweet and love to snuggle when I am comfortable, but I'm a bit of a princess and will let you know when I need my alone time. I would do best in a home without other pets or small children. I'm hoping there is a family out there that will appreciate my sassy & sweet purr-sonality.
